No Toilet, No Bride

According to last year’s census, only half of households in India have an inside loo and only 11% of homes have a loo connected to the sewerage system. This state of affairs has led one minister to describe India as the world’s “largest open-air toilet” (http://tinyurl.com/7cssyh4)

In a bid to eliminate this practice of open-air defecation, the India Government has launched a campaign advising women NOT to marry a suitor unless (or until) he can demonstrate he has a lavatory in his house (http://tinyurl.com/9g9z4tx)

(Personally, I’m holding out for a inside loo AND a Bidet!) 😆
